Hi Phillip,

ok, will try to get the files from svn.

I hope that named pipe is just the VMWare backend of the virtual serial device. Usually their emulation is quite good.

Markus

Hi,

well, ok...
1st from where do I get the source of the signing server?
The client part is in the webserver sourcecode, the server part is on
http://svn.cacert.org/CAcert/CommModule/

2nd once I have the code I can start to play. VM offers integration for
several pieces of hardware (but no physical serial ports currently...
doh). Ok, but you can map named pipes into virtual machines and then
make two virtual machines use the same named pipe. Which effectively
SHOULD behave as two machines connected with an serial cable or modem.
Named Pipes have a different behaviour than serial ports regarding
connection drops.

Have to try it out (once I have an signing server up&running).

Best regards,
Philipp Gühring
