Servus Karl-Heinz,
I just changed your account on bugs.cacert.org to "updater" access level, so I hope you should now be able to add comments (for example test reports) to the bugtracker cases.
The cases which need testing are marked with status "needs testing" or "needs testing and review" in the bugtracker.
How to test in detail is harder to tell. Sometimes a rough test description is given somewhere in the bugtracker case, but more often you must try to think of some test procedure yourself by reading the case's description, and maybe the other notes on the case. Of course this can be quite difficult, but it has the advantage that people sometimes think of unusual ways of testing things. And sometimes in ways the developers did not think of... :-)
I just had a look at https://bugs.cacert.org/view.php?id=649, this may be a case you could try as a starter. There are already some test descriptions in there. You can try to reproduce the tests, and maybe you can imagine some more variants.
Concerning coding itself, I could think of areas in the CATS (https://wiki.cacert.org/Software/CATS/Developer) where improvements would be appreceated. These are surely not top priority (in fact they are closer to "nice to have"), but if noone else can give you a better job... :-)
Maybe it could also help if you can tell us your skills and experiences. Which programming languages do you already know (or want to learn)? Do you have experience with designing user interfaces, coding APIs, CSS, SQL, to name just a few things? If we know what you can do it's easier to find a job for you.
For coding with CATS some knowledge of PHP and probably some basic SQL would be needed. And being acquainted with HTML and CSS also does not hurt. Furthermore, you should be able to work with GIT to get the sourcecode and push your changes. If you are interested in this, contact me with private mail.
Concerning the WiKi, AFAIK Martin Gummi (https://wiki.cacert.org/Community/HomePagesMembers/MartinGummi) would be one of those who can give you access...
Kind regards
Ted

Hi all,
I'm a programmer ans as this I would like to join in programming and
testing.
For testing I read the welcome pack and found some discrepancies between
the English version
(https://wiki.cacert.org/Software/TestTeam/WelcomePack/02-CreateAccounts) and
the German version
(https://wiki.cacert.org/Software/TestTeam/WelcomePack/02-CreateAccounts/DE).
Is there anyone in charge to harmonize this?
I created an account on the wiki (Karl-HeinzGödderz) and now I want to
get write permission at least to create a homepage.
Next question about testing; I found some bugs marked: The fix has been
installed on the production server on ....
So my question: what tests are actually to do?
And next: who can give me a hint where to help with programming?
Best regards
Karl-Heinz
