Hmm, Jan was a bit faster, I have now placed a "clean" database dump (no user data included) at https://test.cacert.org/testserver_dbstructure.sql.gz

Brian, maybe you could compare that script with Jan's version and tell us what worked best for you, so it can be added to the WiKi documentation.

Of course, other feedback is also welcome. :-)

Kind regards
Ted

Hio Brian,

I thought that there was an "Init-Skript", but it looks like I'm mistaken...

What I can do is to make a dump of the testserver database, and try to clean
it up a bit. Which might then work as an initial database, or it may not.
But the "new testserver root" has proven to be more work than I initially
guessed. So, as usual, it may take some time...
Hi Brian,

I have "synthezized" a set of database initializiation scripts in my
database rework branch at
https://github.com/jandd/cacert-devel/tree/replace_deprecated_mysql_api/scripts/db_migrations

Maybe you can build on that. I also have a docker based setup to get
everything (signer, webdb application, MariaDB, Webserver, CATS) running in
multiple docker containers locally at
https://git.dittberner.info/jan/cacert-devsetup.

Documentation is a bit scarce but
https://github.com/jandd/cacert-devel/blob/replace_deprecated_mysql_api/README.md
is already a lot better than what we have in the current release branch.

Kind regards
Jan

Ted,

It has been too long since I last tried to simulate our system.

As we have discussed, I have been working on the code for an issue in
Mantis, and am ready to see how close I got.

Using my local Apache, I can install this code somewhere that Apache can
find it, but I also need a database. As far as I know, I need MySQL (
Mariadb ) to do that, but where do I get a database to use to run this
code?
