I confer what is common in my old country:
https://www.politi.no/tjenester/pass/
Hvor lenge er passet gyldig?
· Pass til personer over 16 år utstedes for et tidsrom på 10 år
· Pass til personer under 16 år har følgende gyldighetstid:
o 0-5 år: to år
o 5-10 år: tre år
o 10-16 år: fem år
*different language or country variations* we have about three
different written languages in Norway, Bokmaal, Nynorsk and Samisk.
Myriades of dialects. This authority issues the passports, which is not
necessary for schengen countries.
https://www.politi.no/tjenester/pass/
it says:
"Selv om norske borgere ikke er underlagt regulær passplikt ved
grensepasseringer innen Schengen-området, "
Mortens Opinion:
I prefer a strict verbatim naming rules, which is easy to understand.
We have letters like About ÆØÅ : ÆØÅ
I think part of latin1 iso-8859-1 and certainly utf-8 standard. But no
more ASCII.
Personal names rewritten like Wenche Myre Wencke Myre for ease of
pronunciation I don't like. Wenche is real name, all Norwegians know hot
to pronounce that. Wencke was done so that the Germans could say it
correctly on TV. An artificial name,
Like Herbert von Karajan. von is Kuenstlername,
Final say I feel has the government issued legal document.
Verbatim. With the same sha1 hash.
===
I would like to see that all names have to
be on government issued ID, which is currently not the case.
===
===
Vote Aye if you want the AP to be clear about what is allowed and what
is not, and specifically require a match with government issued ID.
===
Morten's vote is Aye.
