As far as I can tell, the Funkfeuer hosting service is going 
to be seeing more downtime over next few weeks.  This 
appears to be related to their BGP router, which is the 
central point of failure that handles the upstreams.  It 
keeps freezing at inconvenient times like 05:00 this morning ...

A new BGP router has been ordered.  Delivery time is 
apparently a week or so, and then expect some burn in time 
and config and so forth.  For the technically interested, it 
appears to be a PowerEdgeTM 1950 III from Dell.  If anyone 
wants a more formal report, ask and I'll check.

Obviously, BIT would not have these problems because they 
are a professional and commercial situation.  Funkfeuer are 
nice bunch of guys, and I use them for my other big 
community project here in Vienna, but ... they are hobbyists 
and amateurs, mostly intending to serve a hobbyist and 
amateur market.  Not a professional market or professional 
Internet service.
