The last information I have on this topic is from Philipp. They are
private because of spam issues.

"At the moment we are providing the standard mailman archive, but since
we don't want to make it fully publically accessable (spidering,
spamming, ...), it's currently login protected for members of the
mailinglists, and Google and other search engines can't index it and
make it searchable."

For me it is ok that they are private, I was only wondering why the
sysadm-list changed now.
