Hi all,

We at Hobbynet had the same problem yesterday, almost all of our server
when't into thermal shutdown. But after the cooling was restored they didn't
turn them selfs back on.

Today I made an adjustment in the bios, and now is the cooling is restored
the server it wil turn itself backup on.

Don't know if the Cacert hardware has this feature, maybe this needs to be
checkt out.

For cacert it doesn't help that much. we have to type (manually)
a encrypted disk password and maybe some others. This means that manual labor
is always involved.

What I did was:

* power up the servers (actually sun2, sun1 didn't want
  to be nice to me at first, but it behaved when philipp
  asked it some nice questions)
* start the vservers
* check some services
* get some food
* test some services

but:

since there is no list of all the services involved and
it's decided that some vservers are not critical and maintained
by other people (who don't have the time?) I did not
have sufficient documentation to start all the services.

Futuremore: I did decide not to start the server immediately again
after the cooling problem looked to be restored which proved to be
a good thing afterwards. This caused a 'great' delay in service
downtime because at around 16:00 I started starting servers and
checking things again.

At least: nothing broke physically (yet).

Kind regards,

Mendel Mobach
