I came across this http://www.cacert.org/help.php?id=9 the other day.
It seems to me to be apache1 focused and a little dated.
Anyone want to rewrite it?

If there is a more standard way to specify the RewriteRule than '.?' please
change the page.
Also on the original page can the mysql query be escaped properly and
potential have a LIMIT 1 clause (for efficiency).
If you're willing to rewrite this please put a bug in bugs.cacert.org to let
us know.
