Dear Board,

Philipp Dunkel has made the following motion:

Replacement of Signing Server
The board resolves to replace the signing server as soon as possible and 
instructs the systems-engineers to evaluate possible means of doing so.

Further more the board resolves in principle to fund the purchase of a 
new signing server. At the same time there should be fund-raising 
efforts to ensure that this can be done. A concrete motion for the 
approval of funds need to be made once a plan of action is proposed by 
the systems-engineers.

<b>Background</b>
The signing server shut down for unknown reasons twice in the last 
month. As of right now, the systems team suspects degenerating hardware. 
(see Mail below).
As the signing server is at the core of the CAcert systems, its 
continued operation is of vital interest.

Problem was the same as reported on June 12: spontaneous reboot without
apparent cause. We suspect deteriorating hardware.
