agree. it has been especially surprising in that way.

Sure. can be done on either the 32 or 64 bit machine. Any estimate for 
RAM/disk space usage? What's its CPU usage like? Just send me this off list.

As this seems to be a long term thing I'll setup a base lenny machine and get 
it hooked into the same system management interfaces as the production 
systems 
to make sure system updates are done, consistent logging etc.
