thanks for your warm welcome. I hope I'll turn out worth it.
 
As Dominik mentioned, I have some years Linux administration experience
(since the mid-90s, to be more precise), but the only mailservers I had
to handle were sendmail and qmail, so I hope you don't expect me to fix
by tomorrow a nasty routing issue hidden somewhere deep inside in the
configuration files ;)

This box is not the securest one I have,  but it's the only one with a
fixed IP address and outgoing SSH access. I secured the private key
with a 128-character random passphrase and hope this will do it.
