Definitely, there isn't a requirement for critical team sysadms to be in 
the Ede area.  It is really a benefit if they are because of their 
ability to do the onsite part, and also their ability to meet and get to 
know the existing team.  But these are benefits not requirements.

Perhaps the way to move forward is to look at the surrounding area:  
Belgium, Germany, etc.  This way, we can organise perhaps a once-a-year 
trip with relatively low costs.  Like, at Fosdem.  Having the critical 
team members meet once a year is the sort of thing where the board might 
be convinced to pay travel expenses, if they can be low enough.
