I would like to take a survey of the user agents that visit us regulary:
cut -d\" -f6 $LOG |sort|uniq -c|sort -r
Maybe this should be repeated for the referrer-field (-f4) to see if there
any properties stored, that might help identify the frequency of some
clients (while I suspect that they are empty).
For determining the frequency from only the user agent I have vague idea
how to do this, but I think I have to test this first on one of my systems
before I can safely let someone else run this code ;)
Thanks and regards,
Andre
