what appears significant is that there is a single identifable,
tracable, legal person at the far side of a certification not what
that person is called. if i wish to certify myself as 'ttw' then
surely it is most relevant that i am a tracable, whether i am
identifiable to any specific individual is a much more complex
proposition. for example a friend of mine is 'robert' on his passport
but known only as 'grant' (his middle name) which appears on most
other documentation ncluding his bank and credit card and certainaly
he would be un-identifiable to most of his friends as 'robert'.

i am, however, of the opinion that it should be restricted, at least
in the short term to known, common contractions or verifiable variations.
the principle that an assurer has sufficient local knowledge for this,
and in it's absence, common sense, may be considered dangerous but i
would re-iterate my initial point to those rebuttals.
