Paying something is certainly already done by assurers.  They have paid with 
time and
transportation and city parking fees to get assurances done...

So now that we have some efficient ways to be paid small amounts via go 
betweens like amazon mechanical turk
or 21.co, that could be a way to come up with the audit money.

Is the core team of volunteers ready for that audit?
What to pay the core team for the work of an audit?
